BACOLOD CITY - Michael Sta. Ana was born without limbs, but he doesn’t let his disability get in the way of living a normal life.
To make ends meet, the 27-year-old Davao City native has worked different jobs – jeepney barker, trike driver, and circus crew member.
How has he managed to survive in the face of adversity? "Kayod kabayo," Sta. Ana told ABS-CBN News.
But to his friends and family, he’s best known for his passion for singing. His big dream? To sing on "Showtime".
“He used to watch Showtime and told me he would like to sing there one day. He’s a good man with a big voice,” said Renalyn Roderos, an eatery store owner at the terminal where Sta. Ana now works.
Before settling down in Bacolod City, he used to travel with a circus crew where he met his common-law wife Shane Mendoza.
“He’s a good man and a very good singer,” Mendoza said.
For now, Sta. Ana likes to belt out his favorite song “The Prayer” in a karaoke, waiting for his spot to perform in the big stage. – report from Nico Delfin, ABS-CBN News
