The NLEX Road Warriors will be bringing in a temporary reinforcement to give injured import Olu Ashaolu some time to heal.
According to PBA.ph, NLEX is bringing back Aaron Fuller while Ashaolu undergoes rehabilitation from an injured right knee that has been nagging him in their previous two wins in the PBA Governors Cup.
Acting coach Jojo Lastimosa said Fuller is expected to arrive on Tuesday.
But Ashaolu will still play one more game against the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok on Wednesday before he goes t rehab.
"The deal is if (Olu) can rehab while Aaron is here and even get back and be healthy, then we got a good situation going," Lastimosa said in the PBA website. (LINK ON PBA WEBSITE https://www.pba.ph/news/nlex-taps-aaron-fuller-as-substitute-reinforcement)
"And Aaron was kind of okay with that contract that if Olu comes in and he's healthy, he's stepping in and Aaron will sit down," added Lastimosa, who calling the shots while Yeng Guiao is in Indonesia for the 2018 Asian Games.
Ashaolu played a big part in NLEX two victories, the latest of which was their 123-107 win over the NorthPort Batang Pier.
The Nigerian-Canadian finished with 27 points against NorthPort, scoring 13 of those in the third quarter.
"He's defying the doctor's advice and he actually has a 70-percent tear (on his knee). It means that half of it is dangling already," said the former PBA star.
"I don't know how he's playing but you gotta give the guy credit. He's showing tremendous heart because he really wants to play."
