TNT KaTropa hammered out a difficult 92-90 victory over sister team Meralco in the PBA Governors Cup at Ynares Center in Antipolo City Sunday.

Despite playing without import Mike Glover the KaTropa managed to pull off the win thanks to Terrence Romeo and Roger Pogoy.

Romeo finished the game with 23 points, while Pogoy added 19.

TNT apparently didn’t need Glover to beat Meralco after he settled for 11 points and 15 rebounds in their 103-90 loss to NLEX last Friday.

The match was tight in the first half with the KaTropa leading by just 2 points, 43-41, following a buzzer beating triple by Jayson Castro.

TNT jacked the lead up to 70-61 but Allen Durham took over to seize a 76-72 advantage for Meralco with 6 minutes to go.

The KaTropa, however, fought back, rained treys and knotted the count 85-all with 1:5 remaining.

Pogoy and Romeo conspired to give TNT the lead which they maintained until the final buzzer.

It was a tough loss for the Bolts, who opened their Governors cup campaign with a tight 109-106 win over Columbian Dyip last Friday.

Durham tallied 27 points for the Bolts, who also got 18 and 10 from Baser Amer and Chris Newsome, respectively.

Both TNT and Meralco now sport 1-1 records.
