MAYNILA -- Natuwa si Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia sa ipinakitang laro ni James Yap kontra GlobalPort nitong Huwebes kung saan pumukol siya ng pitong three-point shots para bitbitin ang Elasto Painters papuntang PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.

Nagtala ng 27 points ang two-time MVP na siyang pinakamalaking puntos niya sa nakaraang apat na seasons.

“I talked to James, the best game he played for this team,” ani Garcia. “It's a do-or-die game and he stepped up big. That's why we call him Big Game James.”

Kahit si Yap natuwang maipanalo ang top seed Rain or Shine, 103-97, makaraang gulatin sila ng eighth seed GlobalPort sa naunang nilang quarterfinal match, 113-114.

Ani Yap ayaw niyang maulit ang naranasan niya noong nasa B-Meg pa siya noong 2012 Philippine Cup kung saan pinatalsik sila ng eighth seed Powerade.

“Naalala ko ‘yun and ayaw kong mangyari ulit yun. Siyempre all out ako kasi alam ko ang pakiramdam nun. Masakit,” aniya.

Samantala, nagreklamo naman si Garcia sa officiating na nangyari noong fourth quarter kung saan diumano walang tawag na pumabor sa kanila.

“So terrible officiating in the fourth, I don't know why,” aniya.

“I just hope the technical committee would review the fourth quarter cause I feel something wrong in the fourth quarter.”
