MANILA - Classes in Davao City from preschool to college will be suspended on Monday, October 16 due to a scheduled transport strike, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio announced Friday.
The local government "fully respects" the protest action, Duterte-Carpio said in a statement.
Davao City, she said, will deploy buses and jeepneys to assist commuters.
"We remind the public that crimes committed during the strike will not be tolerated. We enjoin the protesters to practice self-restraint in their actions," Duterte-Carpio said.
