Look forward to an improved weather condition by Sunday, with tropical storm Odette expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday night or early morning Saturday.

"Habang papaalis yan, makakaranas pa rin ng moderate rains, bugso-bugso, itong area ng Ilocos region, from Ilocos all the way sa area ng Pangasinan," said Weather Specialist Nikos Peñaranda.

In its 11 a.m. weather advisory, PAGASA said "Odette" was packing maximum sustained winds of up to 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

As of 10 a.m., Odette was spotted 45 kms West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

Public Storm Warning Signal Number 2 was hoisted in the areas of Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, and Ilocos Norte.

Meanwhile, 10 areas are under Signal Number 1:

  • Cagayan,
  • Abra,
  • Kalinga,
  • Apayao,
  • La Union,
  • Ilocos Sur,
  • Mt. Province,
  • Benguet,
  • Ifugao, and
  • Pangasinan

PAGASA added that the western sections of central and southern Luzon, including Metro Manila, Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience scattered light to moderate rains with thunderstorm.
