MANILA (CORRECTED/UPDATED) - President Rodrigo Duterte early Thursday visited the wake of former National Security Adviser Roilo Golez in Taguig City.
The president spoke with Golez's wife Natalia and son Rico. He left the wake roughly two hours later and didn't entertain questions from the media.
Also seen at the wake were National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Senator Richard Gordon, and former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario.
The late statesman's remains will be transferred at 10 a.m. Thursday to La Funeraria Paz in Sucat, Parañaque and will be brought back in Taguig on Friday.
A mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday before the burial.
Golez died of a heart attack on Monday at the age of 71.
