MANILA (2nd UPDATE) - State weather bureau PAGASA Friday dawn warned of possible flooding in Metro Manila and nearby provinces due to rains brought by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Inday.

In its 4 a.m. rainfall warning, PAGASA placed Metro Manila, Rizal, and Cavite under an orange-level alert.

A yellow-level alert was hoisted in Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Bulacan.

Low-lying areas in these provinces are vulnerable to flooding.

Meanwhile, a thunderstorm is affecting Batangas, Laguna, and Quezon, which may persist within two hours.

Continuous rains have already forced the cancellation of classes in some areas.
