MANILA - Isabelle Duterte was an affectionate granddaughter to President Rodrigo Duterte when he attended her high school graduation on Thursday.
The daughter of resigned Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte gave her grandfather a hug and a kiss as she walked off the stage after getting her diploma at graduation rites of San Beda College-Alabang at the Philippine International Convention Center, showed a video from Bing Regalado, among parents attending the ceremonies.
The Duterte patriarch was accompanied by Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go, as seen in a photo uploaded on San Beda's Facebook page.
Isabelle courted controversy earlier this year when she posed for her debutante pictorial inside the halls of Malacañang Palace, with one photo even showing the presidential seal in the background.
Her lavish debut, held at The Peninsula Manila in January, became the subject of criticism over its extravagance while her grandfather is known for a modest lifestyle.
