MANILA - (UPDATE) Billionaires Cynthia Villar and Manny Pacquiao are the richest senators of 2017, according to their statements of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) that were released Thursday.
Villar's net worth last year reached P3.6 billion, around P5 million higher than her 2016 net worth. Her family has interests in property and shopping malls.
Pacquiao declared a net worth of P2.9 billion, down from his 2016 net worth of P3.1 billion. The world champion boxer will fight Argentinian Lucas Matthysse in July.
Senator Antonio Trillanes was the least wealthy, with a net worth of P6.9 million, followed by detained Senator Leila de Lima with P7.9 million.
