MANILA – Three dance teams representing the Philippines won big at the 2017 World Hiphop Dance Championship held at Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday (Manila time).
UPeepz, a professional dance crew based in UP Diliman, dominated the MegaCrew Division, garnering a total score of 8.33, followed by Da' Republik from Dominican Republic with a score of 8.08.
Two more dance teams from the Philippines finished in the competition's top five. Legit Status placed third with a score of 7.99, while The Alliance placed fifth with a score of 7.70.
Other Philippine teams also won in the different categories. Lil Peepz placed 7th in the junior division, while Kingsmen and Legit Status placed 7th and 8th, respectively, in the varsity division.
This is the second time UPeepz won the top prize in the MegaCrew Division. They also placed first in last year's competition.
