She went out of her way to make sure she looked her elegant best for the premiere of "Crazy Rich Asians" in Hollywood, spoiling herself for choice as she prepared five gowns -- all from Filipino designers Michael Leyva and Francis Libiran.
Fortunately, Kris Aquino's efforts to stand-out did not go unnoticed, with prestigious magazine Vanity Fair including her in its list of the "must-see looks" from the imperial green carpet.
Aquino, who wore Levya's gorgeous modern, yellow Filipiniana, was one of the 15 people featured in the article, that also listed the movie's lead stars Henry Golding and Constance Wu.
Aquino plays a Malay princess in the movie that boasts an all-Asian cast. She described her experience in the premiere as a "turning point" in her life, and that she's proud to represent the Philippines.
"Crazy Rich Asians" opens in local cinemas this August 22.
