MANILA – A musical that celebrates the songs of the Australian soft rock duo Air Supply will have its world premiere in Manila this year.
Resorts World Manila is holding auditions for lead and supporting roles in “All Out of Love” until March 14.
The musical will be staged at Newport Performing Arts Theater starting October 18.
“We are excited to partner with Musical Management Asia Pacific for ‘All Out of Love’ the musical,” said Kingson Sian, president and chief executive officer of Resorts World Manila. “It is a great source of pride to be the first to host a world-class production such as this, and it is a big step toward our goal of making the Philippines the ‘Broadway of Asia.’”
Graham Russell, half of the Australian soft rock duo, for his part, said: “We have always had such great support from our Filipino fans. Manila is definitely the right city to launch the show. We’re very excited.”
“All Out of Love” is a contemporary romantic comedy written by Jim Millan, set against the backdrop of Air Supply’s classic songs.
It tells the story of music producer Tommy King, who tries to convince struggling rock star Jamie Crimson to go on a world tour to promote his new album and save his record company.
