Six people went missing after a flash flood swept through a community along the banks of the San Cristobal river in Parian Uno and Purok Dos in Calamba, Laguna, at the height of Tropical Depression Maring.

Homes are located near the river, where the water curves at like a trap that locals call “Pulong Walang Diyos.”

Families recall how fast the water level went up, which made it impossible to evacuate on time. Grief fills the air as families wait for news regarding their missing relatives.  So far, two missing children has been recovered in the waters of Laguna de Bay.

Trying to get on with their lives, residents try to save what is left of their community, from available wood, utensils, and clothes from piles of muddied debris.
