Ghost Month: Do's and Don'ts
As Chinese integration in the Philippines grows, more and more of their beliefs are being shared by the rest of the people.
Here in the Philippines, many non-Tsinoys now also believe in the Hungry Ghost Month.
Ghost Month is the 7th month in the Lunar calendar.
On August 11, the first day of Ghost Month, it is said that the Gates of Hell will open to allow spirits and ghosts to wander in the world of the living.
These spirits are said to spend the whole month visiting their families, feasting, and at the same time looking for victims.
It is said that these ghosts need to be appeased so that their spirits will not unleash bad luck.
