MANILA -- "I could not believe we were chosen to be blessed with the visit of Padre Pio's relics."

These were the words of Father Luciano Felloni, parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Camarin, Caloocan City on Sunday.

Felloni observed the church in Camarin, just slightly bigger than a covered court, is one of the smallest and probably the poorest of the churches to be visited by the relics during its one-month stay in the Philippines.

But he said the number of parishioners, at around 70,000, probably makes up for the its size and status that is why Padre Pio chose to bless the church with the visit.

"He knows he is very loved here," added Felloni.

They did not disappoint as parishioners kept coming during the three-hour schedule of the visit, which was extended by another hour to accommodate those who wish to touch the relics.
