MANILA -- More than eight months after suddenly calling off their engagement, Denise Laurel and her former fiance, Barangay Ginebra star Sol Mercado, are working on fixing their relationship.
The two had been engaged since 2013 but last October, through an Instagram post, Laurel announced that they have decided to call off their engagement.
Speculations that they have reconciled surfaced last month after she took to Instagram and expressed how grateful she is to meet Mercado again.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Laurel opened up about the status of their relationship right now, admitting that she is still in love with Mercado.
"We are working on things. I can't really say officially or whatever. I think ang tanda na naman to rely on label. So I'm just moving where God thinks I should be," Laurel said.
"We always remained in contact naman. It was just the gravity of the contact, there was a time that it was just very minimal but people grow from different levels of communication," she added.
In fact, Laurel seems open about pushing through with their wedding plans.
"If that's what God wants for us then that's [where we will be]. I mean in my heart, I'm just going where Gods puts me," she said.
Without going into details, Laurel said that their families, friends and her son have something to do with their reconciliation.
