MANILA -- Onscreen sweethearts Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia don't mind publicly expressing their affection for each other, going by photos of the two at Sunday's FAMAS awards show, in what appears to be further indication that the two have moved on from a rough patch two months ago.
The tandem dubbed "JoshLia," both nominees for top acting prizes for their performances Antoinette Jadaone's “Love You to the Stars and Back,” were captured seated beside each other in the audience during the event held at the The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque.
They appeared comfortable as they held hands while watching the program. At one point, Barretto was seen touching Garcia's face as he leaned on him, apparently to listen closely to what he was saying.
Barretto, 21, and Garcia, 20, had notably been less affectionate towards each other in public following their controversial falling out in April, for which the neophyte actor apologized after admitting he was at fault.
That tearful admission was followed by a joint interview, where Barretto revealed they were starting to fix their relationship. At the time, she said Garcia was also in the process of regaining her trust.
Following the blockbuster successes of their last three films, Barretto and Garcia are returning to the big screen in July with "I Love You, Hater," this time with Kris Aquino. They are also gearing up for their first TV series together, which has yet to be formally announced.
