MANILA - Paulo Avelino advised Bea Alonzo to stop overthinking and just accept things as it is.
This was the actor’s love advice for his “Kasal” leading lady, who admitted that she and Gerald Anderson recently went through a rough patch although they are now fixing their relationship.
Confessing that he also has a similar tendency, Avelino explained: “Kapag lagi nating pinapagana 'yung utak natin, dumadating sa point na nadi-disregard natin 'yung kung ano talaga ang nararamdaman natin sa tao.”
“Mas nilalaban ng utak natin 'yung puso natin. I’m more of a person who trusts what I feel. If I love a person, then I love a person. Hindi 'yun mababago nang iniisip ko na ginawa niya, or nang iniisip ko na kasalanan niya. Kumbaga, mas nananaig yung pagmamahal,” he added.
During her “Tonight with Boy Abunda” interview, Alonzo noted that mending her relationship with Anderson is a choice.
"The moment you choose to fall in love, you choose to experience pain, and I think it all boils down to who you want to experience all of that for. . . Doon nag-go-grow 'yung relationship. Doon nag-go-grow ang love," she said.
Short-lived sweethearts until they parted ways in 2010, Alonzo and Anderson re-connected romantically in 2016 when they were paired in the big-screen romcom "How to Be Yours."
Since then, they had been rumored to be a couple, until early this year, when Alonzo sparked rumors of a breakup after she un-followed both Anderson and his "My Perfect You" leading lady Pia Wurtzbach on Instagram.
Alonzo and Anderson, however, patched things up eventually, with the 29-year-old actor saying the temporary rift was caused by a misunderstanding.
