MANILA -- It seems there is nothing that Ryan Bang won’t do when it comes to promoting “Da One That Ghost Away” (DOTGA), his first movie as a leading man.
In fact, he even agreed to conquer his fear of heights when host Melai Cantiveros and his leading lady Kim Chiu dared him to do paragliding so "DOTGA" would do well in the box office.
In this video from “Magandang Buhay,” Bang was obviously terrified the entire time, as he repeatedly told his instructor that he already wants to go down.
However, due to the strong wind, it took them some time before they finally landed.
When he returned to their base, Chiu and Cantiveros commended Bang for his bravery, telling him in jest that he could actually consider this a milestone in his life.
Meanwhile, Bang shared that he feels overwhelmed to finally top-bill a film under Star Cinema.
“Napa-suwerte ko. Pangarap ko lang talaga makasama si Kim kahit hindi naman ako leading man. First time ko naging leading man, tapos si Kim Chiu pa ang leading lady sa isang magandang pelikula under Star Cinema. Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord,” he said.
Chiu, for her part, said Bang definitely deserves this break.
“I am very happy and very honored na makatrabaho ko hindi lang si Ryan kundi lahat ng komedyanteng pinagsama-sama sa isang pelikula. Si Ryan, naha-happy ako sa kanya sa binigay na chance sa kanya kasi deserved naman talaga niya. Itong movie na ito proves na ang galing niya pala,” she said.
Directed by Tony Y. Reyes, "DOTGA" will open in cinemas nationwide on April 18.
