Singer-comedienne K Brosas is proud that she raised her daughter, Crystal, on her own.
That's why in an interview with ANC's Headstart, Brosas merely described the father of her daughter as a "sperm donor."
"Financially and spiritually, gano'n," she told anchor Karen Davila.
Brosas said she would like to think that she is friends with the man who fathered her daughter, but that is not the case. However, her daughter understands, she said.
"Even my daughter now understands kasi 19 na siya. Nagkita lang sila ulit nung debut [niya]. It's so showbiz. After nun, wala na uli," she said.
But the ever-candid Brosas admitted that her experience with Crystal's father was not the most painful love-related experience she's had.
"From the start, nung nalaman niyang buntis ako, ayaw na niya. [I was] 22. So tanggap ko na. So pinalaki ko [yung anak ko], wala akong hiningi. Yung anak ko, nakita rin, I never badmouthed him," she said.
"Yung anak ko na lang unti-unting naka-realize na, ‘Mommy, may tao talagang ganun.’ Pero we’re not mad at him or his family. We’re all good," she added.
Brosas is still hopeful, however, that they will eventually learn to be friends.
Apart from being a mom, singer, comedienne, Brosas is now also an author.
Her witty comments, popularized in the "Tawag ng Tanghalan" segment of "It's Showtime," have been compiled into a book published by ABS-CBN Publishing.
"K-Sabihan, Ang Alamat ng Teh at Iba Pang Kasagutan" is exclusively available in all National Book Store outlets nationwide.
