MANILA - The Bureau of Customs on Thursday urged multinational companies to apply for "super green lane" accreditation for faster movement of shipments ahead of the Christmas season.
Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapena said nothing goes through so-called "super green lanes." He said only the regular "green lane" facility was suspended.
"That is why I am encouraging all those reputable multinational companies na hindi na gumagawa ng kalokohan to apply for the super green lane," Lapeña said on DZMM.
Lapeña said the agency was studying how long it takes for Customs personnel to examine a shipment.
Eight district collectors and 30 section chiefs were relieved from their posts earlier this month, some for failing to meet their collection targets, Lapeña said.
