MANILA – In a rare moment, two of the most powerful businesswomen in the country let their hair down as they sang a duet.
The SM Group’s Tessie Sy-Coson and Robina Gokongwei-Pe of Robinsons Retail Holdings recently sang together at the birthday party of The Philippine Star lifestyle editor Millet Mananquil.
The two gamely performed “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” as seen in this video shared by Mananquil on her Instagram page.
“Best birthday gift,” she said.
Sy-Coson is the daughter of Henry Sy, who topped the Forbes 2018 list of the Philippines’ richest men. She is currently the vice-chair of SM Investments Corp. and chair of BDO Unibank.
Gokongwei-Pe, meanwhile, is the daughter of John Gokongwei Jr., who is No. 2 on the same Forbes list. She is the president and COO of Robinsons Retail Holdings.
