SMX Convention Center Manila turns 10 with a grand culinary celebration

MANILA -- A decade since it was built, SMX Convention Center Manila has housed some of the biggest events and reached milestones the country has ever witnessed.

Situated in the Mall of Asia complex, the country's largest private event venue, SMX Manila has opened its doors to countless expositions, conferences, and trade events, among others.

This 2017, SMX Convention Center celebrates its 10th year along with SMX Convention Center Davao's 5th anniversary, Sky Hall Seaside Cebu's first year under the SMXCC management, and Megatrade Hall's 25th anniversary.

Various organizations, associations and affiliates but mostly clients came to attend the annual signature event of SMX.

This year's Culinaire gathered some of the country's top caterers-- 14 to be exact-- in the Function Rooms 4 and 5 of SMX to feature their best dishes, setups, and services.

With a theme "Flight of Flavors," each caterer served a 3-course dinner inspired by popular dishes from Japan, Spain, Korea, Thailand, Italy, Brazil, Germany, Turkey, India, France, USA, China, Mexico, and the Philippines.

The participating caterers include Albergus, Bizu Catering Studio, Conrad Manila, Hizon's Catering, Josiah's Catering, Juan Carlo The Caterer, Kitchen City, The LJC Group Catering Service, M Catering and Fine Foods, Manila Catering, Tamayo's Catering, TJIOE The Caterer, Via Mare and Event Shakers Mobile Bar for wine, cocktails, beer and coffee.

From sushi rolls to Turkish delights, each catering company demonstrated their highest standards in food preparation and presentation suitable for all kinds of social events. Each table and catering station has also been meticulously designed to replicate the country being represented including the staff who were dressed in traditional costumes.

Towards the end of the night, participants were asked to cast their votes for the awarding of Best in Appetizer, Best in Service, Best in Set Up, Best in Course and Best in Dessert. Juan Carlo The Caterer bagged three awards (Best Appetizer, Best Course and Best Setup), while Conrad Manila took home (Best Dessert and Best Service).

While only two caterers swept the awards, the others assured everyone that they will continue to improve their services and be more competitive in the next events. SMX Convention Center also announced that it will launch new website end of the month.
