Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray took on professional photographer Pat Dy in a challenge to take the best shots.

The photography duel using Huawei's P20 Pro was done at the Masungi Georeserve in Baras, Rizal.

With its lush forest and jaw-dropping scenery, the nature reserve served as a fitting backdrop for Gray and Dy's photos.

Their first challenge was to take landscape photos.

According to Gray, the artificial intelligence-equipped P20 Pro helped her capture photos with ease despite the bright lighting brought by the sunny weather.

"Even though it's super bright today and the contrast is quite high, the phone somehow softens the tone. When I see it with my bare eyes, it's quite contrasted. In the phone, it looks smooth and even," she said.

Dy meanwhile marveled at the P20 Pro's AI mode.

"What I like about the Huawei P20 Pro are the 19 AI modes. You can basically be anywhere shooting greens, landscape, macros, and the camera will help you achieve even better photos," said the photographer.

Aside from capturing picturesque landscapes, Gray and Dy were also tasked to explore the trail and capture closeup shots.

Dy, who has used multiple cameras and lenses during the course of his career, said the P20 Pro's camera gave him flexibility in capturing closeup shots.

"[With] three taps optical and five times hybrid zoom, you can achieve those closeup shots even when you're far, and mix those images clear and sharp," Dy said.
