Two more reasons to fly to Palawan this year

Despite its popularity as a destination for beach-goers and nature lovers, so much of Palawan remains unspoiled and untamed, leaving room for new attractions for visitors.

The vigilance of guardians determined to ensure the island paradise remains a sanctuary for flora, fauna, residents, and visitors alike has led to the province consistently reaping awards. Earlier this month, top New York-based magazine Travel + Leisure included Palawan in its list of top 13 places with the "bluest water" in the world.

Living up to this accolade is a yet little-known sanctuary called the Bamboo Island, two privately-owned islets in Palawan surrounded by pristine waters.

The two islands--Small Bamboo Island and Big Bamboo Island--offer white-sand beaches, an abundance of greenery, and a zero-carbon resort with cozy pavilions and cottages to allow guests to experience nature without forgoing comfort.

The resort also offers the services of a chef and staff, in addition to facilities such as a lounge and bar, situated to allow guests to view the surrounding waters. They can also opt to snorkel and try watersports or deep sea fishing to pass the time.

The food served there are also fresh from a nearby organic farm.

The Bamboo Islands are located about 28 kilometers south of Coron, and are accessible by boat.

Small Bamboo Island can accommodate up to 16 people, while up to 25 people can stay at Big Bamboo Island.

Reservations can be made through the Bamboo Island website.

Aspiring vacationers can also join GetGo's promo for a chance to get an exclusive Palawan escape.

Three lucky GetGo members will be able to go to Bamboo Islands with nine family members or friends, to enjoy the richest marine life in the region, turquoise waters, and lavish accommodations.

The promo is open to all active GetGo members who will earn or redeem GetGo points from January 31 to March 31, 2018.

There will be three winners of 3 day, 2 night paid stays at Bamboo Island, Palawan good for 10 people. There will also be a consolation prize of 10,000 GetGo Points to 10 lucky members.

See how the Adober Studios’ “Trot or Charot” team explore Puerto Princesa, Palawan using their points from GetGo they earned with their daily spend. Miles away from each other, the team split to two to prove who can get to the office faster, if one travels all the way from Palawan while the other one battles through heavy traffic in Edsa.
